Fine magnesium powder (Mg) – 100 grams
Magnesium (Mg) is a silvery, medium-hard, and malleable metal. It has wide applications in many fields, medicine, chemistry, technological production, metallurgy. There is a large number of compounds with magnesium.

Czech Magnesium, formerly also Magnesium, Latin Magnesium, English Magnesium
Magnesium has a melting point of 650 °C, poorer thermal and electrical conductivity. It oxidizes in dry air. An oxidized thin layer protects it from further oxidation, so it can be commonly stored in a glass container.
Upon ignition, it produces an intense white light, which is utilized by manufacturers of pyrotechnics, Bengal flares, and speleologists when photographing vast underground spaces. Magnesium foil is often a combustion starter.
Caution: the flame of burning magnesium can emit UV radiation, use protective goggles with UV factor. Magnesium cannot be extinguished with water, it burns at a very high temperature of around 2200 °C! Special dry extinguishers or specially treated powders must be used for extinguishing. Purchase them before any experiments and ignitions. Improper handling during ignition can lead to an explosion!
Many uses of magnesium alloys:
The alloy of magnesium with aluminum, copper, and manganese is called dural or duralumin. It is resistant to corrosion, relatively light, and mechanically strong – used in aviation, automotive, for the production of sports accessories and bicycles.
In the case of alloying magnesium with aluminum in a ratio of approx. 90:10, possibly with the addition of zinc and manganese, an even lighter alloy, electron, is formed.
Magnesium carbonate (MgCO3) is used by athletes, gymnasts, and climbers for a better and firmer grip. It is also a component of fertilizers.
Magnesium oxide is used for lining blast furnaces for iron production. Magnesium sulfate can be found, for example, in the mineral waters Šaratica or Zaječická, where it acts as a laxative.
There are many other magnesium alloys for various uses.
The technical magnesium we supply has a granular powder structure. It contains min. 98% magnesium (Mg) and max. 2% magnesium oxide MgO, with a bulk density of approx. 0.60 g/cm3.
Magnesium is a paramagnetic metal; it slightly amplifies external magnetic fields and is weakly attracted to magnets.
Utilize high-quality magnesium powder for your applications, trials, and experiments.
