Product description

Yttrium (Y), Latin and English Yttrium, is a silvery-white, medium-hard, relatively rare transition metal. Named after the Swedish town of Ytterby, where it was first discovered. Melting point is 1526 °C, boiling point 3336 °C.

Yttrium for sale: we supply packaging with a purity of 99.9% in multiples of 1 g.

Yttrium is a paramagnetic metal, meaning it is weakly attracted to a magnet. In nature, yttrium is found very rarely, only in the form of compounds – mixed minerals containing lanthanoids.

Yttrium is an important element in electronic and optical applications. Manufacturers use it in the production of LEDs, lasers, superconductors, and magnetic materials.

In medicine, yttrium is used for radioactive isotopes in treatment, as a contrast agent in imaging techniques such as PET (positron emission tomography).

Interestingly, yttrium has many isotopes, some of which are stable and some radioactive. Its most stable isotope is Yttrium-89, which is used in the production of radiopharmaceuticals for medical purposes.

Try this element for experiments.
