Product description

Treasure Hunter, Rescuer of Dropped Keys – KR-55-08/12-25-N

Become a treasure hunter, rescue lost valuables. The nearly half-kilogram neodymium permanent magnet is so strong that it can pull up to 100 kg of metal catches from the water. Thanks to the 8mm hole, you can easily tie it to a carrying rope. Did your keys fall into the sewer? Or even into the river? Lower this magnet to them and you'll have them back in your pocket in an instant. The circular magnet is nickel-plated, water-resistant, with a diameter of 55 mm, and an 8mm hole for the rope.

This strong neodymium magnet also finds application for:

  • Cleaning streams, rivers, ponds of old sunken pots and iron
  • Collecting coins from fountains, to clear water drains (not all coins can be caught by a magnet)
  • Retrieving tools dropped into a well, from a cesspool, ravine
  • Lifting a difficult-to-grip manhole cover
  • Collecting spilled nails, screws

Easily retrieve dropped tools, nails, coins, or keys.

CAUTION: Neodymium magnets are not for children, they have a strong magnetic force, improper use can result in pinched fingers and other injuries. We recommend starting with smaller magnets.

Neodymium ring magnets with a hole are an ideal choice for threading onto rods, ropes or wires, but they also work great as secure fixtures. If you are attaching them with a screw, remember that neodymium magnets are a brittle material – therefore, always tighten the screws "gently" and do not exceed the maximum tightening torque of 2 Nm to prevent the magnet from cracking.

Neodymium magnets are currently the strongest permanent magnets. They work without electricity and can hold many times their own weight. They are made from a mixture of neodymium, iron, and boron (NdFeB).

Neodymium magnets are suitable for:

  • creating magnetic closures for briefcases, diaries, gift boxes,

  • larger magnets as furniture magnets for cabinet doors,

  • manufacturing magnetic holders for keys, utensils, tools,

  • for fastening and attaching home decorations, curtains,

  • stronger magnets for attaching insect screens to windows,

  • in the study as office magnets,

  • for clipping notes, messages to the fridge or a magnetic board

  • and for many other uses, get inspired on our magnetic blog.

Axial and diametral magnetization

Neodymium magnets can have various magnetization directions. With axial magnetization, the poles are located on opposite surfaces (e.g., on the top and bottom of a disc magnet). In diametral magnetization, the poles are on opposite sides, on the circumference of the magnet. The direction of magnetization is important for the correct function of the magnet in a specific application.

Maximum operating temperature of magnets

Standard neodymium magnets can be used up to a maximum operating temperature of 80 °C. If you need magnets for higher temperatures, more resistant variants of neodymium magnets are available up to 200 °C, according to the table of physical data. For demanding conditions where even greater thermal resistance is required, use heat-resistant AlNiCo and SmCo magnets.

We are gradually expanding information about magnets.

A few tips for choosing the right magnet

  • Neodymium magnets can have the shape of discs, cylinders and rods, cubes, cuboids, spheres, cones, rings.
