Molybdenum 99.9%, 1 g
Molybdenum (Mo), in Latin and English Molybdenum, is a relatively rare metallic element that occurs in nature in the ore molybdenite. The melting point of molybdenum is 2623 °C, the boiling point is 4639 °C, making it one of the most resistant metals. Molybdenum has a silvery-white color, it is solid and hard.
Molybdenum sale: we supply packaging with a purity of 99.9% in multiples of 1 g.
Molybdenum is paramagnetic, it is weakly attracted to magnets. In nature, it is found in various rocks, such as molybdenite, wulfenite, or powellite.
Most of the produced molybdenum is used in metallurgy, the rest in the chemical industry. Molybdenum can withstand extreme temperatures without significant expansion or contraction. It is used, for example, in the arms industry, aviation, electronics, engines, and filament carriers in light bulbs.
Molybdenum is an excellent catalyst for many chemical reactions. Alloys with molybdenum are also used in astronautics, nuclear energy, and for the production of welding electrodes.
Most high-strength alloys contain up to 8% molybdenum. Molybdenum is also sought after for its high corrosion resistance.
