The horseshoe magnet is well packaged for transport.
Almost all magnets on our website are made of NdFeB (neodymium iron boron). These horseshoe magnets, however, are made of a different material, namely AlNiCo (aluminum nickel cobalt and iron).
AlNiCo is better suited for horseshoe magnets because it is less brittle and much more heat-resistant (up to approx. 450 degrees Celsius).
Although AlNiCo is also approx. 8 times weaker than NdFeB, it is still much stronger than a ferrite magnet (= refrigerator magnet).
An NdFeB magnet in the shape of a horseshoe could easily break, which is why it is not manufactured in this form.
The horseshoe magnet is 100 mm high, 63 mm wide, 18 mm deep, and the curved bar is 6 mm wide.
The internal distance between the poles is 50 mm.
