Can I also use magnets outdoors?
Neodymium magnets
We recommend using magnets mainly in dry indoor environments.
Neodymium magnets without surface treatment oxidize very quickly and also break. As protection against corrosion, neodymium magnets are coated with three layers of nickel-copper-nickel.
The surface treatment offers a certain form of protection against corrosion, but it is not sufficient to withstand long-term outdoor use.

Therefore, please use neodymium magnets only in a dry indoor environment or protect the magnets from natural influences using anti-corrosion paint, varnishes or waterproof packaging.
Avoid damaging the surface treatment of the magnets and frequently check the magnets for corrosion. Keep in mind that you will have to replace rusting magnets with new ones.
Ferrite magnets
Ferrite magnets are resistant to moisture and can be used outdoors without risk of corrosion. Special protection is not required.
Ferrite magnets are also resistant to most chemicals. Unfortunately, solvents and certain types of concentrated acids can damage the magnets.
